General Counsel, Venebio Group, LLC

Deb Herzog is General Counsel for Venebio Group, LLC and for its subsidiary companies, Venebio Intellectual Property Development, LLC, and algorithmRx, LLC.

She currently practices corporate and contract law, providing all business related legal services and contract drafting for Venebio.

Prior to beginning her own legal practice, Deb was a partner at McGuireWoods, LLP focusing on multi-million dollar merger and acquisition deals for a Fortune 500 client.  She spent several years as part of a team that bought and sold coal and nuclear power plants.  In particular, she organized and ran the due diligence process, on both the buy and sell side.  When purchasing, she drafted extensive due diligence reports covering all aspects of the purchased plants.  She also drafted all purchase agreements, which included stock purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements and merger agreements.  Deb was the lead on the closings of these various transactions.

Another significant part of Deb’s practice was the representation of a private equity firm in the purchase and sale of a wide variety of businesses.  She led the team in all due diligence efforts and reporting, drafting of purchase and sale agreements, and all closing documents.  Deb was the lead on the closings of the transactions.

Before moving to Richmond, Deb practiced corporate law at Hiscock & Barclay, LLP in Syracuse, New York.

Deb received her BS on Communications from Cornell University, and her JD from William & Mary School of Law.
